The story so far…..

The Spinney Adventurers Club joined forces again this Spring Break as the Mystical Woodland Folk needed their help again. Following a long winter the wildlife were looking forward to spring returning to the Magic Woods to help the flowers, plants and animals to flourish.

Each year a friend of the Mystical Woodland Folk, the White Wizard, makes a journey from the Faraway Land to deliver a very special gift that helps bring spring to the woods. He carries a box containing 8 ‘energy stones’ that are used to put on a special platform in the woods that uses the stones to bring light and warmth to the woods and helps begin the start of spring. Without the energy stones the woods would be shrouded in winter forever!

The White Wizard always keeps the box locked so the Destroyers cannot steal the energy stones but this time there is a problem! He has left the key to the box in the castle at the Faraway Land!

The Mystical Woodland Folk have asked the Spinney Adventurers to make the journey to the Faraway Land and explore the castle to try and find the lost key. Once they have found it they are to open the box and arrange the energy stones on the special platform that will be taken to the Magic Woods and in doing so complete the quest and help spring return.

Never ones to turn down a challenge the Spinney Adventurers set of to the Faraway Land to explore the forest in the hope they would find the castle and retrieve the key.

The followed the forest path, passing streams, crossing bridges and seeing what they could find. Much to their surprise they found the Faery Waterfall, the red stones and even a woodland warrior who is set in stone until the forest is quiet and he comes to life to make sure it is all safe for the animals who live there.

Feeling hungry they found the perfect spot to have a picnic before continuing on their quest.

The Spinney Adventurers continued crossing a large stone bridge and eventually found the castle!

They searched high and low for the key, checking in the castle walls ruins and even climbing to the top of the tower. After a good search they finally found the lost key!

Keeping it safe, they followed the path back, taking time to admire the bluebells and other flowers along the way and keeping their eyes peeled for any other signs of spring such as birds’ nests in the trees.

They had a fantastic day out in the Faraway Land but they had to get back to open the box and put the energy stones in order on the platform.

Fortunately there was a picture in the box that showed which order the energy stones went on the platform. The Spinney Adventurers looked carefully at the symbols on the energy stones and put them in the correct place according to the picture.  And with that the Quest was complete!

Fingers crossed once the platform is returned to the Magic Woods spring will arrive and all the plants and animals will grow healthy and strong! The Spinney Adventurers are looking forward to returning to the Magic Woods to see all the beautiful wildlife that spring has brought to the woods!
