Who are we?

“At The Spinney Day Nursery, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our families. In particular, we want you to know that The Spinney Day Nursery is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. To reassure you in this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. But if you still feel concerned please do not hesitate to contact us.

Types of Data we collect.

In registering at The Spinney Day Nursery we may collect the following information:

– your name,

– your contact details: postal address including billing and delivery addresses, telephone numbers (including mobile numbers) and e-mail address;

– your child’s name, date of birth

– any medical conditions your child might have;

– any medication your child is currently taking

– your communication and marketing preferences;

– your contact details whilst at work and any preferences that you may have regarding contact

– your employers address

This list is not exhaustive and, in specific instances, we may need to collect additional data for the purposes set out in this Policy.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.thespinneydaynursery.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for our monthly e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about events that will be taking place in the future or to ask for your assistance in forwarding an opinion or completing a questionnaire. Both of these actions are internal to the nursery and will not be shared with any outside party. We may also have to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer, Mr John Thomson

Third Parties

It may be necessary from time to time to share your information with a third party. This is solely in the case where we may be required to share your information with Cheshire West and Chester in supporting applications you may make in relation to additional funding or in applying for such financial support as the Government initiative, 30 Hours funding. The nursery use the Connect childcare program as the database and information database. This program also uses the iConnect program for the recording of education progress as well as the Parentzone facility which allows for parents to interface and contribute to their child’s personal learning journey. The Spinney maintains its IT security and maintenance through a company called ProNetworks. This process often means that they have to remotely access our computers to improve internet security programs or solve problems with the computers themselves. Social Media

We use social media platforms such as ‘Facebook’, ‘Twitter’ and ‘YouTube’ to keep our followers updated and informed of any current news and information relevant to the Nursery and childcare sector. We also use the channels to share photographs of activities that the children take part in but without showing full face shots or personal information that could lead to identification of any individual. We never collect personal data through these channels and it is up to parents as the ‘user’ to ensure that social media channels are complying with GDPR.
